Refuge Christian Church
The Refuge Story
Refuge didn't come from nowhere. It came from two congregations in Nolensville who looked at each other and decided the most faithful thing we could do was become one—one place where people can experience Jesus, community, peace, healing, and growth.
We brought forward the friendships, the faith, and the calling. We left behind the separation. What we're building together is something neither of us could have built alone — a church that's rooted, real, and genuinely open to anyone who walks through the door.
That's the Refuge vision. And there's room for you in it.
What We Believe
We aim to be a vibrant Christian family, rooted in God's love, building up our community through fellowship, worship, and service.
-
We believe God is the creator, sustainer and ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in 3 persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (the trinity). These three are coequal and one God.
-
We believe Jesus is the second Person of the Trinity. He was born of the Virgin Mary, was both fully God and fully man. He lived a perfectly sinless life and sacrificed himself for the sins of the world (us). We believe this sacrifice satisfied the justice of God for the salvation of all who repent and trust in Him alone by faith. We believe in His bodily resurrection, his ascension to heaven, and his future return.
-
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the trinity, is in the world drawing mankind to Jesus and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit gives each believer His filling, power, understanding and convicting. The Holy Spirit also equips each Christian with unique spiritual gifts as well as spiritual fruit as we yield our lives to Him.
-
We affirm the Bible as the living, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. The Holy Spirit enables us to interpret and apply its Truth to our daily lives. The Bible reveals Jesus Christ and fundamentally shapes our beliefs, our expression of love, and our conduct in the world. We hold that the foundation for all our teaching must be built upon His inspired Word, the Bible.
-
We believe salvation is available to all by God’s grace through faith. It is not earned by works but is the free gift of God to all who repent and trust in Christ alone. All who trust in him are declared righteous by the Father because of Christ’s life, death and resurrection.
-
We believe the Church is the living, visible Body of Christ on earth, created to glorify God the Father and sustain His presence in the world. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to actively embody His nature and purpose, which compels us to faithfully reveal the transformational reality of His Kingdom through sacrificial love. This mission begins with intentional outreach and service in our immediate community and extends to making disciples among all the nations.
